How to use the AI summary and attachment analysis?

The user sees the email's short summary and the analysis of attachments in the Summary & Metadata tab in the side panel. Who can do this: A user who can see the email (AI permission to re-analyse). Summary and attachment cards are saved; when the email is reopened, even by someone else on your team, they appear without delay. An attached invoice, quote or contract is turned into a card with parties, dates, amounts, document information and actions to be taken.

Steps

  1. Open the email and click the Summary & Metadata tab on the far right. The Content summary explains in a few sentences what the email wants 1; if it is long, it is shortened, and the full text is shown with Expand. The AI's warnings about this email are fully shown in a separate section below the summary. The summary is prepared when the email is first opened; a "preparing" indicator may appear for a few seconds.

  2. To have the summary prepared again, click Reinterpret 2. The new summary replaces the saved one.

  3. In the Attachments section, open the attachment card 3. The card contains the document type, Parties, Dates, Amounts, Document details, Highlights and Action items.

  4. If the attachments have not been analyzed, click Analyze … attachment with AI. To see the card's file, choose Show file.

Security checks and tags are done as soon as the email arrives; the summary is prepared only for opened emails, AI credits are not spent on unopened emails. For short emails, instead of a summary it says "This email is already short".
